United School Students Selected for Team Nepal at AI for Good Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026
Three students from United School are going to Geneva. Aarav Gautam, Abriya Shrestha, and Nirvana Singh Rayamajhi have been chosen for the Nepal Junior and Senior Teams. They will represent Nepal at the AI for Good – Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026. The event runs from July 7 to 10 in Geneva, Switzerland.
This is a big moment for United School. It is also a big moment for Kathmandu Valley. Very few schools in the valley have students competing at this level two years in a row. United School now stands among them.
A Second Year in a Row on the World Stage
Last year, a team called Team Gautam Buddha made Nepal proud. This was the Nepal Junior Team. Two United School students were on it, Aarav Gautam and Paridhi Shrestha. They won second place at the AI for Good – Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2025 in Geneva.
This year, Aarav Gautam is going back. He has been picked again for 2026. This time he will compete with Abriya Shrestha and Nirvana Singh Rayamajhi. One student returning twice shows something important. It shows that United School builds real skills in robotics and technology. It is not luck. It happens because of steady training and good teaching.
AI for Good – Robotics for Good Youth Challenge is an international challenge. It is linked with the United Nations AI for Good programme. A group of young students from various countries create robots and apply AI in order to solve real issues. It is an honor to be selected to represent your country here. When a school sends students two years running, it says a lot about the learning happening in its classrooms in Imadol, Lalitpur.
Students do not get picked for Team Nepal directly. They first have to win a national contest run by the Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN). This contest is the official path to Team Nepal. United School's students won this contest, and that win is what opened the door to Geneva.
Watch Aarav and Paridhi Talk About Their Trip to Geneva
UAG Studio spoke with Aarav Gautam and Paridhi Shrestha about their journey last year. This interview is part of the United and Beyond series. In the video, they talk about how it all started. They explain how they split the work between them. They also share the hard parts, like managing costs and getting ready for a big international event.
They speak of their mentors and how much support aided them on their journey. Their accounts of competing at the international level are a description of how it felt. Towards the end, they offer their own suggestions to other students who aspire to do the same sometime in their future. They also discuss the impact of their time at United School on their lives, and what AI means to them.

Meet the Students Representing Nepal in 2026
Three students now carry a big responsibility. They will represent their whole country.
Aarav Gautam, Abriya Shrestha, and Nirvana Singh Rayamajhi have been chosen for the Nepal Junior and Senior Teams. Over the next few weeks, they will keep improving their robotics projects. They will practice solving problems quickly. Soon they will compete against young teams from all over the world in Geneva.
Think about what this takes. Long hours of practice. Late nights fixing code. Doing all this while still kee
ping up with regular school work. This is the kind of hard work United School tries to build in its students from a young age.
A Message from the Founder Director
Mr. Nara Hang Rai is the Founder Director of United School. The following is what he said to the students before they depart for Geneva:
“Congratulations to all the selected students on such an exceptional accomplishment. Being the representative of Nepal in the international arena is indeed a privilege as well as an accountability on their part. I wish good luck to all of them as they prepare themselves for the AI for Good – Robotics for Good Youth Challenge 2026 in Geneva!"
His message shows what matters most at United School. Winning a competition is nice. But building confidence, teamwork, and courage matters even more.

Why This Matters if You Are Choosing a School in Kathmandu Valley
There is one similar question which many parents in Kathmandu and Lalitpur pose to their children’s schools. Are you really preparing me for the future full of technology or are you just talking? United School has a clear answer now. Second place in 2025. A fresh national selection in 2026. These are real results, not just words on a website.
This did not happen by chance. United School gives students hands-on time with robotics, coding, and AI. This happens through clubs and activities built for this exact purpose. Students get real project work. They get guidance from mentors. They get the kind of practice that builds confidence for big competitions.
If you live in Imadol, Lalitpur, or anywhere in Kathmandu Valley, this is worth noticing. A school that keeps sending students to global tech competitions, and keeps bringing home results, is one of the best schools in Kathmandu for a future built on technology and innovation.
What Happens Next
Aarav, Abriya, and Nirvana will now enter their final stage of preparation. Soon they will leave for Geneva. The whole United School family, students, teachers, and parents, will be cheering for them as they get ready to compete against top young minds from around the world.
United School congratulates all three students. Updates from Geneva will be shared as the competition gets closer.
